B.D.S course extends for a period for four and a half academic years followed by twelve month wills compulsory rotating internship.The course is subdivided as follows

  • First B.D.S - 1 Year
  • Second B.D.S - 1 Year
  • Third B.D.S - 1 Year
  • Fourth B.D.S ( Part 1 ) 1 Year
  • Fourth B.D.S ( Part 2 ) 6 Months
  • Internship - 12 Months

To be eligible for taking First/ Second / Third / Final Examinations, a student shall furnish proof of having -

1) Gone Through complete course of instructions in the subjects of the concerned year approved by the University.

2) Finished the required practicals and demonstrations seprately in the subjects of the year.

3) Performed the prescribed practicals and dissection of human body for 1st year examibation.

4) Cleared the previous year examination excepting the case of the first year examination.

Examination (General Instructions)

A student will not be allowed to appear the university examinations if he/she has not :-

- attended mimimum numbers of prescribed lectures.

- performed the prescribed excercises.

- attended mimimum 75% of lectures, demonstrations and practicals, and 85% of the clinical duties in any subject.

A student failing either to appear at or to clear the First Professional Examibation in three successive attempts shall not be allowed to continue studies except with special permission of faculty, Board and Dental council of India.

Besides this other rules and regulations of the affiliating University in force (with amendments, if any ) shall apply in this regard.

Internship

After passing the Final B.D.S. Examination every student shall undergo one year paid compulsory rotating internship in this college or any dental institution of the country recognized by the DCI. The principal of the college shall deal with time-table and posting of the interns.

On Sucessful completion of internship certified by the principal of the Institution, a candidate shall be eligible for the award of the B.D.S. degree. The principal may extend the period of internship if an intern has some deficiency or unsatisfactory work.
